A Homecoming at Sahaya

7 Days 7 Meals Campaign - Day 1

A Homecoming at Sahaya

Beginning Project Legacy, one meal and one memory at a time.

The first day of Youthika Connect’s 7 Days 7 Meals Campaign began at a place that has always felt like home to us, Sahaya Old Age Home. After months since our last visit, returning to Sahaya felt like coming back to family.

From the moment we walked in, something truly special happened: the senior citizens remembered us. They remembered our faces, our conversations, and the time we had spent together months ago. The fact that our bond stayed with them even after so long reminded us why Youthika exists to create meaningful connections that go beyond a single event.

🍛 Sharing Meals, Sharing Connections

For Day 1 of Project Legacy, we wanted to share more than just a meal. We served a warm, homely meal with mild spices and comforting flavours, something that felt easy, familiar, and reminded everyone of the love and comfort that comes with home-cooked food.

With 8 volunteers and 16 core team members, we spent the day interacting with the seniors, listening to their stories, and creating moments filled with laughter and joy.

🎶 Memories Filled With Laughter

The day was filled with smiles as we played Antakshari and Dumb Charades together. The seniors actively participated, sang along, laughed with us, and brought the same energy and enthusiasm that made the entire room feel alive.

These moments reminded us that connection has no age barrier. A simple song, a shared laugh, or a conversation can bridge generations and bring people closer together.

🌱 The Beginning of Project Legacy

Day 1 was not just another visit; it was the beginning of a new chapter for Youthika Connect. Project Legacy represents our commitment to building consistency, creating lasting impact, and ensuring that senior citizens feel loved, heard, and valued.

As we walked away from Sahaya, we carried more than just memories. We carried new learnings, renewed motivation, and the feeling that we had returned to a family that welcomed us from day one.

This was only the beginning. With six more days ahead, we look forward to creating more smiles, sharing more stories, and strengthening the bonds that make Youthika Connect what it is.
